Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a website cost?
We'd love to give you a number — right now — but until we know what you want, we can't. Our goal is to meet your needs, on your budget. Contact us, and we'll work together to create a plan that works for you. Your consultation and estimate are provided at no charge.
What is a domain name?
It's your identity online. Our domain name is spiderlilyweb.com. If you have not already registered your domain name, we'll work with you to create an appropriate name and register it for you. Typically, domain registration costs about $10-$20 per year.
What's the difference between an ISP and a host?
Your ISP is your Internet Service Provider — the company that gives you access to the Internet, for example Comcast or Qwest. Some ISPs will offer you "free personal web page space", but there's a catch; you won't have www.YourWebSite.com, you'll have a site address that includes your ISP's name. Your host is the company that owns the server where your website lives and is accessed by the world. If you don't already have a host, we can set that up for you too. Hosting costs vary by plan, starting at as little as $5-$10 per month (all that's required for most basic sites). Costs rise as you add in services such as shopping carts or streaming video.
What is SEO?
SEO is Search Engine Optimization. Just because you have a site posted, that doesn't mean "the Google" will find you. We'll help you get your site noticed — and it won't involve spam!
